JICA project feasibility study (SME support type adopted) Participation in fisheries infrastructure in Timor-Leste

In 2018, we were selected by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to participate in a case study (SME support type) through a private sector partnership project on fisheries infrastructure in Timor-Leste.

Through seven field trips from April to December 2018, we conducted a project feasibility study on "Establishment of Global Food Value Chain Utilizing Harikai-style High Grade Seafood Production" in Timor-Leste.

Products produced by the Harikai method of high-grade marine products are value-added "sashimi grade" products in product categories such as frozen fish.

The products produced by the Harikai method of high-grade seafood production can add "sashimi grade" value to the frozen fish product category, and are highly evaluated for their quality not only by high-end restaurants and their customers in other countries, but also by the wealthy and food connoisseurs.

In addition, the Harikai-style production of high-grade seafood is a leading example of sixth industrialization in the fisheries industry, working with fishermen from production to marketing.

By setting a successful example of Timor-Leste's high-grade marine product production, we can expect to expand the number of fishing villages producing high-grade marine products and contribute to achieving the goals of the "Timor-Leste Seafood Development Plan 2011-2030" through the development of our own business. The company's own business development has contributed to the achievement of the goals of the Timor-Leste Strategic Development Plan 2011-2030.
